The search is on to find the ultimate pole dancing champion who best embodies the spirit of pole dance, with the launch today of the Pole Star Invitational 2008. The Invitational, a key part of increasing the profile of pole fitness in the United States, identifies areas of excellence in strength, flexibility and performance in those people that have a real flair for the art of pole dancing and performance. 20 preliminary finalists will be selected between April 1st and April 15th, 2008. On Sunday July 13th, 2008, a panel of celebrity judges will select an overall winner from the finalists at the Grand Final to be held at Element in Hollywood, California.

Pole dancing has become more acceptable in the public eye by promoting fitness alongside entertainment to create an elegant dance form that people of all ages can enjoy. The Pole Star Invitational 2008 is a great way of shining a spotlight on the best talent around the country to make people see that pole dancing is a dance form that should be placed alongside Salsa, Ballroom and all the other great dances already accepted in the mainstream. 

What makes the Pole Star Invitational unique?

X-Polesitions was founded in 2006 to set the gold standard for pole dance education, based more around the health and fitness industry in an effort to redefine the pole dancing image. Polestar International and X-Polesitions both share an interest in raising the benchmark for pole dancers the world over. In its 1st year, The Pole Star Invitational 2008 initiates a national pole fitness invitational competition to recognize the highest achievers in the sport while setting the standard of excellence for all pole dancers.
